At Vion Food in the Netherlands we are currently seeking Trainees with a Master's or Bachelor's background who can join our Traineeship programme starting from March 3, 2025. The Traineeship will focus on our operational department.

As a Trainee, you will play an essential role in a rapidly changing meat industry. What might you be dealing with in terms of projects?
- Redesign of low volume productions
- Digitisation of line lists for boning activities
- Improvement and optimisation of primary and secondary article presentation with positive financial impact
- Developing a concept for processing by-products
- Optimisation of the flow of goods
- Analysis of pig quality parameters to organise farmers to valorise pigs
What’s in it for you?
Together with other Trainees, who come from diverse educational backgrounds, you will participate in a 1.5-year trainee programme at Vion. This programme provides you with the following opportunities:
- Gain practical experience in various departments and divisions of Vion.
- Work on multiple projects for a duration of 4 months per project. During these projects, you will receive intensive guidance from internal senior mentors while also being responsible for your own learning process.
- Attend theoretical modules focused on effective functioning in a key role within Vion. Examples of these modules include change management, project work, and communication techniques.
- Participate in various training sessions to acquire knowledge about relevant and current topics in the meat industry and specifically within Vion. Topics may include LEAN management, quality systems, and animal welfare.
- Work on your personal development through a tailored development plan. Additionally, you will participate in several guided peer group sessions with other Trainees and benefit from intercollegiate support.
- After 1.5 years, you will have a clear understanding of your knowledge and skills, giving you the opportunity to take up an interesting position within Vion.

What we expect from you?

- Completed bachelor's or master's degree in one of the following fields:
Supply Chain Management
Electrical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Sustainable Innovation - Maximum of 1 year of work experience.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Flexibility to work on different projects in diverse departments and locations, such as valorization, quality management, and master data management.
- Possession of a driver's license.
- Openness to professionally challenge yourself and further develop.
- Willingness to think outside the box and act accordingly.
- Willingness to have a career in an operational envoirement.
